Winning the penultimate game away 5 – 3 at Harvesters West secured the championship for AEK U12s. The boys started off a little nervously conceding a well taken Harvesters goal and then spurning a number of chances in the first half to come in 1-0 down at halftime. The halftime team talk did wonders for the boys as they came out knowing what they had to do and continued to play their customary good passing football. Kofi Asamadu had a great game and scored four fantastic goals and Emmanuel Ihenacho with a sublime finish was enough to win the game. Credit to Harvesters who made life very difficult and pushed AEK all the way until the final whistle.
After winning 12 games drawing 4 and only losing 2 during a very tough season this was a moment to savoir, the boys had won league! Well done to all the players and coaches Mario Michael and Andy Lancaster.
The team are looking at adding good quality players to the squad as next season the team will be playing 11-a-side. Please contact Mario Michael 07505 121 748 if you would like to try out for the team.
